Basketball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Coral Springs Charter Panthers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-59 to the Benjamin Buccaneers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benjamin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Buchanan, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Buchanan, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Coral Springs Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Benjamin, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10.

Coral Springs Charter will face off against Goleman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Goleman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Benjamin, they will take on Pine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
