Softball Recap: Lincoln Lions vs. Westerville Central Warhawks
Lincoln proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westerville Central Warhawks, sneaking past 6-5. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Warhawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Ella Carlson looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kira Bailey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Esterby, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Lincoln's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Westerville Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lincoln will challenge rival Grove City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westerville Central is set to face off against their familiar foe New Albany at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
