Softball Recap: New Hope-Solebury Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

After only one run in their last game, New Hope-Solebury made sure to put some runs up on the board against Plumstead Christian on Friday. The Lions blew past Plumstead Christian 12-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Victoria Rutkowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, New Hope-Solebury got a massive performance out of Isabella Elizondo, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Elizondo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ali Rickard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

New Hope-Solebury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

New Hope-Solebury is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Plumstead Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Coming up, New Hope-Solebury will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lower Moreland at 3:45 p.m. As for Plumstead Christian, they will head out to square off against Delaware County Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
