Recap: Loganville Red Devils vs. Jefferson Dragons
The Loganville Red Devils fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took a serious blow against Jefferson on Friday, falling 56-20. Loganville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.
Loganville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joseph Barnes, who rushed for 101 yards on only 14 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. That's the first time this season that Barnes rushed for 100 or more yards. Ahmed Souare was another key contributor, picking up 132 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leading Jefferson to victory were Gavin Markey and Sammy Brown. Markey threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, while Brown gained 161 total yards and four touchdowns. Brown's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Jefferson also got a significant boost from Dallas Russell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Loganville's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-5. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Clarke Central, Heritage, and Apalachee. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Loganville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson is also done with their season.
