Baseball Recap: Maryville Christian Comes Up Short

Maryville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silver Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Calvin Stevens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Maryville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maryville Christian will take on St. Louis HomeSchool P at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they will venture away from home to face off against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
