Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Glens Falls

Glens Falls proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Gloversville Huskies/Dragons 2-1. The Black Bears haven't had any issues with the Huskies/Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jeffery Woodell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 6.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Woodell wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Hubert, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Glens Falls pushed their record up to 13-7-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.71 runs across that stretch. As for Gloversville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Coming up, Gloversville will be playing in front of their home fans against South Glens Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glens Falls will be paying especially close attention to the Huskies/Dragons' game: after the Huskies/Dragons face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Glens Falls again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
