Baseball Recap: Goodrich Gets the Win

The Goodrich Martians narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Port Huron Red Hawks 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Martians.

Brady Bazsler tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Goodrich saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cross Darby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Goodrich's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Port Huron, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Coming up, Goodrich will be playing in front of their home fans against Kearsley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Port Huron, they will welcome Armada at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
