Soccer Game Preview: Florence vs. San Tan Foothills

The Florence Gophers will face off against the San Tan Foothills Sabercats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Florence's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while San Tan Foothills has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Wednesday, Florence had just enough and edged San Miguel out 2-1.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for San Tan Foothills' offense. They lost 15-0 to Benjamin Franklin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Sabercats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Chargers are ranked 11th).

San Tan Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Florence, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Florence took their victory against San Tan Foothills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. Does Florence have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Tan Foothills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
