Softball Game Preview: Tuslaw Mustangs vs. Orrville Red Riders

The Tuslaw Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Orrville Red Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuslaw is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Tuslaw's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Orrville as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Red Riders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Isabel McCune was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shaylyn Fox, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Dani Crescenze was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Tuslaw hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Tuslaw's record is now 11-6. As for Orrville, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
