With a playoff win on the line, Kenai Central rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Redington Huskies with a sharp 7-0 victory. It was an even better day for Christine Goering as she scored three goals for her team.

Kenai Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those nine matches. As for Redington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Kenai Central and Redington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Kardinals will challenge Monroe Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Kenai Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redington, they will square off against Grace Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Redington will be up against Grace Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.65 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
