Basketball Game Preview: Fort Cobb-Broxton Mustangs vs. Cyril Pirates

The Fort Cobb-Broxton Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Cyril Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Cobb-Broxton will be strutting in after a win while Cyril will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Fort Cobb-Broxton earned a 58-48 victory over Apache.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 91 points the game before, Cyril was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (91-14), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as they came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 376th).

Fort Cobb-Broxton has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Cyril, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.

Fort Cobb-Broxton ended up a good deal behind Cyril in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 59-43. Can Fort Cobb-Broxton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
