Baseball Recap: Millersport Has No Trouble Against Fisher Catholic

Millersport lost to Fisher Catholic on April 2nd, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Lakers put the hurt on the Irish with a sharp 11-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lakers.

Owen Everitt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Millersport is undefeated when Everitt allows one or fewer earned runs, but 0-9 otherwise. Everitt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Darian Smith and Cash Inman did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Inman went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Inman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Eiginger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Millersport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Millersport's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Fisher Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
