Baseball Recap: Alexander Central Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Alexander Central can now relate to. They came up short against the Sun Valley Spartans on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Alexander Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Alexander Central's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Sun Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-11.

Alexander Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sun Valley, they will square off against Cuthbertson on Friday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
