Morgan Arterburn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

Grace Thompkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was B Bayne, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.
Greer's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6-1. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Blue Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .524. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greer suffered a grim 20-10 defeat to Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Greer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
