Volleyball Recap: Fairmont Senior Takes a Loss

Fairmont Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees. If the Polar Bears were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cee-Bees when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Fairmont Senior sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Fairmont Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clay-Battelle, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Fairmont Senior didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Petersburg on the 23rd. As for Clay-Battelle, they will take on North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
