Softball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington Find Success

Gardner-South Wilmington won the last time they faced Grant Park and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Maddie Simms's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liv Siano was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Siano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Gardner-South Wilmington's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Grant Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Gardner-South Wilmington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
