Volleyball Game Preview: Carver Crusaders vs. Abington Green Wave

Carver is a perfect 5-0 against Abington since September of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Green Wave at 5:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Abington will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Carver extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Calvary Chapel Academy.

Carver never let Calvary Chapel Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 27-25, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carver to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Hyland, who had 19 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Hyland has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Maeve Zakrzewski, who had ten kills and eight blocks.

Abington not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Middleborough with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Green Wave haven't had any issues with the Sachems recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Abington's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Carver, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Carver took their victory against Abington in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Wave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
