Volleyball Recap: Rancho San Juan Falls Despite Big Games from Devin Francisco and Austin Valdez

The Rancho San Juan Trailblazers lost 3-0 to the Scotts Valley Falcons on Thursday. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Rancho San Juan ultimately came up short, they really made Scotts Valley work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Rancho San Juan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Austin Valdez, who had 16 digs, and Devin Francisco, who had 29 digs. Francisco is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 15 or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.

Rancho San Juan's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Scotts Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

After both having extra time off, Rancho San Juan and Pacific Collegiate will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho San Juan is facing Pacific Collegiate at the right time seeing as Pacific Collegiate is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Scotts Valley, they will face off against Soquel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Scotts Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
