Baseball Recap: St. Clair Triumphs

St. Clair won the last time they faced Herculaneum and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 5-2 win over the Black Cats.

Clayton Ingram spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because St. Clair is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Easton Martin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine games. Another player making a difference was Bo Robbins, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

St. Clair's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Herculaneum, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Clair will challenge Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Herculaneum, they will take on Crystal City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
