Diamond Hill-Jarvis came tearing into  Thursday's  matchup with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Western Hills Cougars as they made off with  an  11-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won eight contests by more than eight  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 CHRISTOPHER MARTINEZ spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Diamond Hill-Jarvis let  DIEGO BASURTO and  GABRIEL JAIME run wild. BASURTO  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  JAIME  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  stolen bases and three  runs. BASURTO is becoming a predictor of Diamond Hill-Jarvis' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 5-11-1 when he doesn't).  MILIANO RIOS was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Diamond Hill-Jarvis pushed their record up to 10-11-1 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Western Hills,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-17-1.
