Basketball Recap: Loveland's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

If Loveland was riding high fresh off their 59-37 takedown of Anderson last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Loveland Tigers fell 65-55 to the Kings Knights on Monday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Loveland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aunna Dancy dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dancy a new career-high in rebounds. Ryann Unruh was another key player, putting up ten points and seven assists.

Even though they lost, Loveland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Loveland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kings, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Loveland and Kings could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Loveland (ranked 224th) will meet West Clermont (ranked 101st) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Kings (ranked 283rd) will meet Milford (ranked 36th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
