Baseball Recap: Carrabec Has No Trouble Against Rangeley Lakes

Carrabec got themselves on the board against Rangeley Lakes on Tuesday, but Rangeley Lakes never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 13-0 win. Considering the Cobras have won three contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Scott and Colton Scheve were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Scott pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Scheve didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. At bat, Scott went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Scheve went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Scheve is becoming a predictor of Carrabec's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Caldwell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Austin Sales also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Carrabec kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rangeley Lakes only managed three hits.

Carrabec's record is now 3-4. As for Rangeley Lakes, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Carrabec will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lakers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
