Recap: Colonie Central Raiders vs. Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks
The Colonie Central Raiders pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 42-35 to Saratoga Springs. Colonie Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
David Newell had a dynamite game for Saratoga Springs, rushing for 183 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 60 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Rigabar, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
Colonie Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Saratoga Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colonie Central will take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saratoga Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against La Salle Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (La Salle Institute is ranked 141st, while Saratoga Springs is ranked 138th).
