Softball Recap: Chipley's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of seven wins, Chipley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bozeman Bucks by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in February.

Kenzlee Nelson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Chadwell, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Chipley's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Bozeman, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Chipley will welcome Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.18 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bozeman, they will head out to challenge Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
