Baseball Recap: Forge Christian Wins Going Away Against Cactus

Forge Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Cactus Cobras. The Fury have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cobras, too.

Forge Christian got a great performance from Jonathan Tipton as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Tipton a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carsen Hughes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben McLean, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Forge Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cactus only posted an OBP of .286.

Cactus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Forge Christian has already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Paradise Valley on the 19th. As for Cactus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-6 victory against Moon Valley on the 19th.
