Baseball Recap: Sunnyslope Comes Up Short

If Sunnyslope was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Willow Canyon last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sunnyslope Vikings fell just short of the Liberty Lions by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Wes Griffin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Matthew Workman was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Sunnyslope's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Liberty, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyslope will head out to face off against Apollo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to take on Kofa at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
