Softball Recap: Central Private Gets the Win

Central Private won the last time they faced Ascension Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Redhawks came out on top against Ascension Christian by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Molly Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central Private let Addy Brown and Aubrey Lane Watts run wild. Brown went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Watts went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Avery McCartney was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Central Private's record is now 9-1. As for Ascension Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Central Private will be taking part in a tournament against Glenbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ascension Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Destrehan at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
