Football Game Preview: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Clay Eagles

Perrysburg has gone a perfect 4-0 against Clay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Perrysburg will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, Perrysburg didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Findlay, but they still walked away with a 14-10 victory. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Yellow Jackets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Perrysburg's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Malik Beck and Reed Gerken, who racked up all four sacks between them. Beck also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

Meanwhile, Clay strolled past Anthony Wayne with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14.

Clay now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Perrysburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Perrysburg against Clay in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 35-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
