Lakewood is 1-6 against Sehome since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will face off against the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Lakewood will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Sedro-Woolley, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Cubs on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tejay Hoiland looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since April 5th.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Egger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Lakewood is undefeated when Egger posts three or more hits, but 3-12 otherwise. Aiden Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Sehome had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mountaineers as they made off with a 10-1 win. The Mariners not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 11-1).
Tyson Goodman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Sehome hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Sehome, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Lakewood suffered a grim 14-8 defeat to Sehome when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
