Baseball Recap: Turpin Comes Up Short

If Turpin was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Union City on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Turpin Cardinals took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hollis Tigers on Thursday.

Jhett Huffman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and one stolen base.

Turpin's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hollis, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turpin will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buffalo at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Hollis, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hollis Tigers take on Mooreland Bearcats at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
