Volleyball Recap: Giulia Reginelli's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Padua Franciscan over St. Ursula Academy

Padua Franciscan extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Ursula Academy Arrows. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Padua Franciscan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giulia Reginelli, who had 13 digs and two aces.

St. Ursula Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 7, 2024.

Kiki Chan was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and two assists. Those 11 digs gave her a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Padua Franciscan and St. Ursula Academy will both be playing Bishop Watterson the next time they take the court. The Arrows will head out to face the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
