Basketball Recap: Greenbrier's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeside, Greenbrier was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They strolled past the Effingham County Rebels with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. This was payback for the Wolfpack, who suffered a 60-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Effingham County lost, don't look at Nakera M Hawkins. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 boards. M Hawkins continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abbi Jones, who posted two points and five steals.

Greenbrier moved to 6-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Effingham County, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Greenbrier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-56 loss against Evans on the 17th. Effingham County has also already played their next match, a 49-41 defeat against Lakeside on the 17th.
