After a string of four wins, Lafayette's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Long Beach Bearcats by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Commodores couldn't score was back in November, the team can't take the result too hard.

Lafayette's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Long Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7-2 record this season.

Lafayette will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New Albany at 7:05 p.m. on January 4, 2025. New Albany will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lafayette surely won't give up without a fight. Long Beach will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Poplarville at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
