Volleyball Recap: Aitkin Takes a Loss

Aitkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Pine City Dragons. The Gobblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Aitkin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.

Aitkin's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pine City, their win ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

Coming up, Aitkin will take on Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pine City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Chisago Lakes Area at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
