Softball Recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville Extends Winning Streak to Five

Christian Academy of Knoxville came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Concord Christian Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emily Bogoski made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.

In other batting news, Gracie Kringen was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Halle Bedwell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Christian Academy of Knoxville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord Christian only posted an OBP of .143.

Christian Academy of Knoxville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Concord Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Academy of Knoxville will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th. We've got a battle between Lions coming up.
