Baseball Recap: Hesston Comes Up Short

Hesston extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 10-8. They lost 10-0 to the Life Prep Fire. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Swathers were not able to get on the board.

As for Life Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Life Prep's part, they let Arthur Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) and Chamont Barry (Nassau, Bahamas) run wild. Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Barry (Nassau, Bahamas) got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Barry (Nassau, Bahamas) a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Fermin Broce (Panama City, Panama), who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Coming up, Hesston will face off against Pratt at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Frogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Swathers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Life Prep, they will challenge Liberty at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
