Baseball Recap: Bayside Has No Trouble Against Heritage

Bayside lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Heritage, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. Bayside put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. The Bears not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Elvin Pascaul was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Still, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Bayside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Heritage is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Coming up, Bayside will challenge Tradition Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
