Baseball Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Watertown dropped their record down to 13-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Milton Red Hawks by a score of 2-1. The Goslings were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Hawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Watertown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Kranz, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

As for Milton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Milton's side, Trey Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits.

Looking ahead, Milton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sun Prairie East at 5:00 p.m. Watertown will be paying especially close attention to the Red Hawks' game: after the Red Hawks face off against the Cardinals, they'll take on Watertown again at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
