Basketball Recap: Rio Americano Triumphs

Rio Americano hadn't done well against Inderkum recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Raiders walked away with a 68-61 victory over the Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Tigers back in January, they had to take a 53-48 loss.

Inderkum's loss came despite strong showings from Jaeden Goodman and Jaeden Claxton. Goodman went 7-for-12 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks, while Claxton dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Goodman's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was LJ Chadwick, who posted five points.

The win made it two in a row for Rio Americano and bumps their season record up to 16-9. As for Inderkum, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rio Americano is set to face off against their familiar foe Christian Brothers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Inderkum will challenge rival Ponderosa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Goodman and Clark Woods, II.
