 Mendon Unity kicked off their season on the road  on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Camp Point Central Panthers by a score of  3-2. The  defeat means Mendon Unity is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
 For Camp Point Central's part,  Emma Stephens spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on six hits.
 At the plate,  Lauren Miller was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendon Unity will take on Pittsfield at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Camp Point Central, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Astoria/VIT at 4:30  p.m.
