Basketball Recap: Kootenai Comes Up Short

If Kootenai was riding high fresh off their 35-12 takedown of Mullan last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kootenai Warriors were beaten by the Nezperce Nighthawks 55-17 on Saturday. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Nighthawks from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Nezperce found their leader in sophomore Helen Wilcox, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paityn Ralstin, who posted eight points.

Kootenai's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-12. As for Nezperce, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Kootenai nor Nezperce have any future games scheduled.
