Softball Recap: Middlebury Comes Up Short

Middlebury and U-32 squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Middlebury had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Raiders. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Middlebury saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adeline Ritter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Jocelyn Foster also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Middlebury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for U-32, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Middlebury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for U-32, they will head out on the road to challenge Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
