Basketball Game Preview: Altamont Longhorns vs. Wendover Wildcats

The Altamont Longhorns are taking a road trip to challenge the Wendover Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Altamont is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Tabiona on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Altamont lost 48-27 to Tabiona. The Longhorns were down 40-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Wendover ended up a good deal behind Rich on Saturday and lost 58-44. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Rebels are ranked 35th).

Altamont's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Wendover, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Altamont came up short against Wendover in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 43-37. Can Altamont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
