Basketball Recap: Leadore Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Challis, Leadore was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the American Heritage Patriots out 39-37. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Mustangs were the better team in the second half.

Leadore found their leader in sophomore Porter Mayo, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Mayo a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Ramsey, who posted eight points in addition to 15 boards and three steals.

Leadore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Leadore's record now sits at 5-9. As for American Heritage, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Leadore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-45 loss against Sho-Ban on the 25th. As for American Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-22 defeat against Challis on the 24th.
