Basketball Game Preview: Towers Titans vs. Decatur Bulldogs

Towers is on a three-game streak of home losses, Decatur a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 3:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Towers is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Jasper County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Towers took a blow against Jasper County, falling 66-36. The Titans were down 61-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-19, which was the final score in Decatur's tilt against Lakeside on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Vikings are ranked 133rd).

Despite the loss, Decatur saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ryan Elmahdi posted 15 points. That was a full 78.9% of Decatur's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Towers' defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
