Football Recap: Gaffney Comes Up Short at Home Against Independence + How To Watch

Gaffney unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 27-21 to the Independence Patriots on Friday. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Indians couldn't quite close it out.

Leading Independence to victory were Jared Street Jr and Jayden Jones. Street Jr rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, while Jones gained 115 total yards and three touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaffney will welcome J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
