Recap: Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan vs. Batavia Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 64-26 at home. The result was nothing new for Chicago Mt. Carmel, who have now won nine games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Batavia's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Boe, who threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Boe has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Berggren, who picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Chicago Mt. Carmel's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.08 points. As for Batavia, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-2.
Chicago Mt. Carmel will square off against Downers Grove North at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Downers Grove North will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Batavia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
