Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clinton Christian Academy on Friday, Hillcrest Christian came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Crystal Springs Tigers by a score of 51-48 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since January 20th.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest Christian still got an impressive performance from Darius Barnes, who posted 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Taylor Milton was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Hillcrest Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Crystal Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Hillcrest Christian will challenge Central Hinds Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Crystal Springs, they and North Pike will face off at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
