Baseball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kofa Kings. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Kings from their previous meeting back in April of 2018.

PEDRO LOPEZ was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). MICHEL MUNIZ also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Sunnyside's record is now 9-7. As for Kofa, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Looking ahead, Sunnyside will be playing at home against Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kofa, they will head out on the road to challenge Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Kofa's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chandler has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
