Baseball Recap: Kiona-Benton Comes Up Short

Kiona-Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-5 to the Naches Valley Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Tuesday.

Kiona-Benton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Omar Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Connor Marler also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Kiona-Benton's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Naches Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.

Coming up, Kiona-Benton will take on Cashmere at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Naches Valley, they will host Royal at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
